Give Beyond a Lifetime. Strengthen Our Region Forever.
Create lasting impact through charitable giving that honors your life, values, and community.
Planned giving through the Pottstown Regional Community Foundation (PRCF) is a meaningful way to support the causes you care about long after your lifetime. Whether your passion is education innovation, health intervention, economic opportunity, or general community well-being, your legacy gift helps build a stronger, more equitable future across the greater Pottstown region.
What Is Planned Giving?
Planned giving is a form of charitable giving that allows you to support local impact through your estate or long-term financial planning. PRCF offers flexible, tax-smart options that make it possible to leave a legacy without impacting your current financial situation.
Legacy Gift Options
Planned giving offers flexibility, tax benefits, and the opportunity to support your community on your terms. Below are six common ways to leave a lasting legacy through PRCF.
As a public community foundation, PRCF brings together strategic investment, regional insight, and personalized service to ensure that every gift delivers lasting impact.
Trusted Stewardship
We manage all funds with transparency and care.
Local Impact
Your gift supports communities within ten miles of Pottstown, including western Montgomery, northern Chester, and eastern Berks Counties. Gifts do not get transferred to a national level organization.
Flexibility and Customization
We honor your intent and can structure your legacy gift to support existing funds or create a new one that bears your name.
Already Included PRCF in Your Plans?
If you’ve already named PRCF in your will, trust, or other estate documents, please let us know. We’d be honored to document your intent, ensure your wishes are fulfilled, and recognize your generosity if desired.

Fund Your Legacy
You may direct your planned gift to:
A Donor Advised Fund for flexible, family-guided giving.
A Field of Interest Fund aligned with your passion.
A Designated Fund to support a specific nonprofit.
The General Support Fund for the region’s most pressing needs.
We work with you and your professional advisor to create a plan that reflects your philanthropic goals. No minimum threshold is required, and all discussions are held in strict confidence.
PRCF offers downloadable tools and sample language to support your planning process. Visit our Tools & Resources page for helpful documents and guidance.
Individuals who want to support PRCF’s mission through a straightforward and revocable gift.
Include PRCF in your will or living trust to leave a specific amount, percentage, or remainder of your estate. This is one of the simplest and most flexible ways to make a meaningful gift while maintaining full control during your lifetime.
Retirement Plan Beneficiary Designations
Ideal for:
Donors seeking tax-efficient giving while preserving other assets for loved ones.
Name PRCF as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), or other retirement accounts. These assets often carry heavy tax burdens for heirs but can pass tax-free to a nonprofit.
Life Insurance Gifts
Ideal for:
Individuals with paid-up or unneeded policies who want to create long-term regional impact.
Designate PRCF as a full or partial beneficiary of a life insurance policy, or transfer ownership of a policy you no longer need. Premium payments on donated policies may also be tax-deductible.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)
Ideal for:
Retirees looking to give tax-efficiently from retirement savings.
If you’re age 70½ or older, you can transfer up to $100,000 annually from your IRA directly to PRCF—satisfying your required minimum distribution (RMD) and reducing your taxable income.
Real Estate or Appreciated Assets
Ideal for:
Donors who want to give more strategically by leveraging non-cash assets.
Gifts of real property, stock, or other appreciated assets can be transferred to PRCF to fund your legacy. These gifts may offer significant tax advantages and avoid capital gains.
