Pottstown Regional Community Foundation (PRCF) proudly partners with nonprofits, schools, municipalities, grassroots groups, and collaboratives to drive equitable change in western Montgomery County, northern Chester County, and eastern Berks County. Our grantees bring vision to life, creating measurable outcomes in health, education, and economic opportunity.
Every grant awarded reflects a shared commitment to PRCF’s Results Grantmaking Framework. This results-driven approach ensures that funding supports work aligned with clearly defined community priorities, including:
Through these targeted investments, our grantees create pathways to wellness, economic mobility, and educational success across the greater Pottstown region.
Since adopting the Results Grantmaking Framework, PRCF has focused its grantmaking on initiatives that are not only responsive to the most pressing community needs but are also guided by reliable data, resident input, and evidence-based strategies. These grantees are addressing complex challenges through targeted programs that integrate long-term vision, measurable results, and collaborative partnerships, ensuring that every funded initiative contributes directly to building healthier, more resilient communities across our service area. They lead efforts that:
Prior to the Results Framework, PRCF invested heavily in foundational priorities across health promotion, youth development, and regional wellness. These Legacy Grantees laid the groundwork for today’s expanded equity-focused mission.
In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic upended daily life across the Tri-County region, PRCF (then operating as Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation) moved swiftly to launch the COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Fund. This fund was designed to provide immediate, flexible support to both local nonprofits and micro businesses serving the most vulnerable residents.
The Foundation committed $100,000 in board-approved seed funding to launch the fund, quickly followed by additional contributions from community members, growing the total fund commitment to $235,000. Grants prioritized organizations experiencing surging demand for basic needs such as food security, housing assistance, education access, social services, and economic stabilization. A dual focus emerged: rapid response to community need and support for long-term economic recovery.
Grant awards from the COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Fund provided up to $2,500 to nonprofits and micro businesses through a rapid application process conducted June 5–12, 2020. Pottstown Area Industrial Development Corporation partnered with PRCF to help direct funds to small businesses in need.
A rapid grants committee was formed to ensure the most efficient use of funds, with representatives from Montgomery County Community College, Pottstown Hospital Tower Health, Pottstown School District, and The Hill School providing expertise alongside PRCF staff.
This relief effort not only stabilized essential services during the peak of crisis but also acknowledged and addressed pre-existing inequities exacerbated by the pandemic. It brought vital resources directly to historically underserved and marginalized populations across our service area.
Beyond dollars awarded, each grant fuels real stories of progress across our service area. PRCF collects Partner Impact Profiles to highlight how grantees transform parks, expand youth development, improve healthcare access, and strengthen economic mobility.
