Time-limited Community Giving Campaign runs Feb. 1 through April 30, 2026, to help cover $31,367.27 in uninsured repair costs and prioritize remaining roof work at 515 Walnut St.
POTTSTOWN, Pa. (Feb. 9, 2026) – The Pottstown Regional Community Foundation (PRCF) is announcing a partnership with ACLAMO to raise community support for emergency repairs at ACLAMO’s Pottstown Center, 515 Walnut St., after severe water damage last spring led to major unbudgeted expenses. Through a time-limited community giving campaign hosted by PRCF, donations made from Feb. 1 through April 30, 2026, will be collected and disbursed to support ACLAMO’s weather-related building repair needs, including remaining roof work that leaders say is now the biggest priority.
The initiative builds on a $7,500 emergency grant PRCF awarded to ACLAMO in the fall to help offset urgent structural repairs recently completed at the Pottstown facility. ACLAMO said the repairs were essential to maintaining a safe, functional space where it delivers education, health and social services to Latino families in need in Western Montgomery County.
“ACLAMO’s Pottstown Center is where families turn when they need support that cannot wait, whether that is a connection to health care, help navigating barriers, or access to food,” David Kraybill, President of the Pottstown Regional Community Foundation, said. “Through this Community Giving Campaign, neighbors can help make critical roof repairs that protect the space where these services happen, so ACLAMO can continue serving people safely and consistently for years to come.”
In April 2025, ACLAMO’s building sustained severe water damage, including significant basement flooding that compromised the foundation. Because the building was originally a church, ACLAMO said extensive excavation and structural reinforcement were required, including drainage improvements, underpinning, structural shelf installation and waterproofing. Their quick response allowed ACLAMO to proceed with summer programs without disruption, but the costs have placed strain on the organization’s budget, leaders said.
ACLAMO reported that, after insurance reimbursement, the organization is responsible for more than $31,000 in unbudgeted expenses connected to the damage, including costs related to a roof replacement that has not yet been completed. ACLAMO said the roof repair remains the most urgent need to reduce the risk of further weather-related damage.
“We deeply appreciate the Foundation’s continued care, responsiveness, and collaboration,” Beatriz Gasiba, Executive Director of ACLAMO, said. “Their partnership, through good as well as challenging times, demonstrates their true commitment to equitable access in our community. It means a great deal to ACLAMO, and even more to the marginalized families who rely on our services to live healthy, dignified lives.”
The Pottstown Center also serves as a local access point for health services through ACLAMO’s Pottstown Community Health Connections Program and operates a food pantry that supplies more than 1,300 pounds of nutritious, culturally relevant food to approximately 40 families each month.
If remaining repairs are not completed before spring, ACLAMO leaders said another season of heavy rain could worsen existing roof damage and lead to additional leaks and interior impacts, potentially disrupting operations until repairs can be completed, and limiting access to services for families who rely on the site for support.
