Yes! If you are required to take a minimum distribution from your IRA, an eligible qualified charitable distribution (QCD) can count toward all or part of that requirement.
A QCD allows eligible individuals age 70½ or older to transfer funds directly from an IRA to a qualifying charity. When IRS requirements are met, the transfer can satisfy part or all of your required minimum distribution without the qualifying amount being included in taxable income.
Not every charitable fund is eligible to receive a QCD, including donor-advised funds. We encourage you to contact PRCF and speak with your financial advisor or IRA custodian before arranging a transfer.
